Cybersecurity Scholarship for Entry-Level Veterans: Must Submit by June 15th

by Lidia Kovacevic

For military veterans looking to earn their cyber certifications and enter the cybersecurity workforce, the Engility CyberWarrior Scholarship could provide the perfect opportunity. Four recipients of the scholarship will each receive an (ISC)2 Certification Exam Voucher and an education package consisting of a textbook, study guide, and practice tests, as well as a direct in-person seminar or online seminar (depending on the location of the recipient).

To qualify for the scholarship, individuals must have been honorably discharged from one of the 5 branches of the U.S. Military by July 13, 2017 and cannot currently work for Engility or (ISC)2. The voucher can be used for a number of exams such as CISSP, CSSLP, CCSP, among others. Cybersecurity certifications can make people looking to enter the cybersecurity industry much more desirable to employers as they have a proven baseline of education in the field.

Applicants for this scholarship will need to supply a resume, provide short answers to three questions, and an optional letter of recommendation. Upon receipt, the applicants will be scored on a mixture of three categories: Passion, Merit, and Financial Need. The application must be submitted by June 15, 2018.
